Our History

  • 1998 - Digital Connection Opens Their Doors

    Bonnyville, AB - Troy Schmeichel first opened Digital Connection Office Systems after purchasing a small printer company out of Bonnyville. 

  • 2000 - Authorized Ricoh Partner

    Digital Connection expands it's product and service line by becoming an authorized Ricoh dealer.

  • 2008 - Authorized Canon Partner

    In 2008 Digital Connection further expanded its list of products and services as it becomes an authorized Canon dealer.

  • 2014 - Ricoh Direct Transfers Responsibilities to DC

    Ricoh will be transferring sales responsibilities for your immediate region to our long-time and trusted local partner, Digital Connection Office Systems.

  • 2015 - Digital Connection Acquires AGS

    In August 2015, Digital Connection acquired AGS Business Systems with offices in Victoria, Nanaimo, Parksville and Courtney expanding its Alberta operations to now service all of Vancouver Island, BC. 

  • 2017 - Ricoh and Digital Connection Partnership

    As of October 1st, 2017, Digital Connection will partner with Ricoh Canada, a recognized leader in workplace innovation, to be the sole service and sales provider for operations out of Lloydminster, Red Deer, Lethbridge, and the respective surrounding areas of those communities.

  • 2018 - Digital Connection Acquires Mitech

    Digital Connection has completed its acquisition of Mitech Business Systems located in Cranbrook, BC. This combination creates an organization even better able to serve our customers and compete in the global marketplace. For the past 40 years Mitech Business Systems has dedicated its service to rural communities.

  • 2019 - Digital Connection Acquires Hartman

    Digital Connection acquires Hartman Business Machines located in Victoria, Vancouver Island. 

  • 2020 - Digital Connection Announce Sharp Partnership

    Digital Connection has been a long-standing service partner with Sharp for over 15 years and are now, increasing our selling and servicing areas to include Edmonton, Red Deer, Lethbridge, and Cranbrook as well as surrounding areas. 

  • 2020 - Expansion of Canon Sales and Service Coverage

    Effective April 20th, 2020, Digital Connection has been officially recognized as an authorized Canon sales and service provider in the regions of Edmonton, Red Deer, Calgary, and Lethbridge expanding upon previous service regions.

Our Service Area

With eleven physical branches, Digital Connection is well situated to support our customers across Western Canada. Locations are each supported through automatic replenishment and local warehousing for additional capacity. 

Our technology service technicians are all dispatched from our inbound Customer Care Center. The Digital Connection service / sales branches provide local support, as we match each location to our corresponding service area. All calls are answered by carefully trained Digital Connection professionals—not by an outsourced help desk. 

Recycling Program

At Digital Connection, we strongly believe in reducing our environmental footprint. Our suppliers have made it easy for returning used toner bottles and cartridges free of charge. Just simply click the appropriate link below to start the recycling process and for your prepaid shipping labels.
